Spirit of Life, of principle and compassion,
breathe through us this day.

Let us be the embodiment of the larger life
in all the little things we do.
As we listen and ponder, deepen and explore our faith,
As we laugh and play, greet and touch one another,
As we live this day in the integrity of our own selves,
As we live this day in the community of precious people,
breathe through us as the Winter wind caresses our bodies,
as we live in the fullness of this day.
(Silence)

We find this Spirit of Life in the glories and wonders of the world
and in moments of great joy and celebration.

But most of all:
it is found in the commonplace, in what we touch everyday;
it is found in the familiar, in those whom we touch everyday;
it is found in ourselves, at the center of our being.
(Silence)

We are human and fragile and often frightened.

We pray for the blessing of compassion
We pray for the blessing of courage
to help us live with the fear of losing and the sorrow of loss.
We especially pray for all those among us
who need to feel the warmth of love and support
in their lives at this time.
(Silence)

In this moment of life, sustain us in the silence
of our own thoughts and prayers...
(Silence)

Peace be to this congregation… this people.

May it be so.
